How Yak Medical handles the information you send us when you request a quote, place a standing order or simply browse the catalogue. Last updated 12 February 2025.
When you email a list for a written quote, we receive your name, practice or facility name, email address, phone number and the items you ask about. If you set up a monthly standing order, we also keep your delivery address and the repeat list. Browsing the catalogue generates standard technical data: browser type, device, pages viewed and approximate region.
We use a small set of cookies to keep the site working and to understand which categories practice managers look at most, such as wound care, PPE or examination room basics. Analytics events are aggregated and are not used to build a profile of any individual practice. You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings at any time.
Your details are used to prepare quotes, confirm sizes and compatible accessories, arrange delivery from Johannesburg or Cape Town and keep standing orders running on schedule. We do not sell contact lists, and we do not use your practice details for unrelated marketing without a clear opt-in.
Order details may be passed to our hosting, email and courier providers strictly to fulfil a request. Records are kept only as long as needed for order history, warranty follow-up and accounting duties. Where a request involves a processor outside South Africa, we rely on their contractual data protection terms.
You can ask to see the information we hold, correct it, request a portable copy or have it deleted, and you can withdraw consent for analytics or marketing at any time. Requests are handled within a reasonable period. Where GDPR or CCPA applies to your practice, the same rights apply and we will confirm the legal basis on request.
