How to reach us while an order is in motion

Most questions come up between the quote and the delivery: a size that needs checking, a glove thickness that changed, or a standing order that should skip a month. Each route below goes to a person who can look at your account and the stock on hand, not a general inbox.

Email for quotes and lists

Send your item list, room layout or glove sizes to info@yakmedical.com. Written quotes go back the same working day for lists received before 14:00.

Phone for stock and fittings

Call 0537547939 when you need to confirm whether a diagnostic set, mobility aid or compatible accessory is in stock before you commit.

Standing order changes

Adjustments to a monthly repeat list, delivery province or case quantities should reach us two working days before the dispatch date. Gauteng, Western Cape and KwaZulu-Natal runs ship weekly.

Response times

Email replies within four working hours. Phone lines are answered during business hours, and delivery queries about a dispatched order are handled the same day.

Clarifications before you send a list

Most back-and-forth on medical orders comes from small assumptions rather than big disagreements. These are the points we spell out on every quote so the order, the delivery and the paperwork line up with what your practice actually expects.

Quote versus order

A written quote holds the item list, pack sizes and lead times we can confirm at that moment. It is not a reservation of stock. Items are picked once you confirm the quote in writing, and if a line has moved between suppliers in the meantime, we tell you before substituting anything.

Bulk pricing thresholds

Bulk rates on gloves, syringes, gauze and IV lines apply per line item, not to the total order value. Mixing sizes across a single case line is fine, but splitting one line into several small quantities does not qualify. If you are close to a threshold, we say so and you decide whether to adjust.

Delivery windows

Same-week delivery covers Gauteng, the Western Cape and KwaZulu-Natal on orders confirmed early in the week. Dispatch runs from Johannesburg and Cape Town, so outlying towns and farm clinics may add a day. We confirm the expected delivery day in writing rather than leaving it open.

Sizes, fittings and compatibility

Glove sizes, cuff diameters on diagnostic instruments and mounting brackets for wall sets are not interchangeable across brands. Send the room dimensions or the model you already use and we check the match before quoting. Returns on opened consumables are not accepted once the seal is broken.

Standing orders

A monthly standing order repeats a fixed list on a set schedule. It is not a contract with a minimum term, and you can pause, add or remove lines before each cycle. Changes need to reach us before the cut-off date for that month, otherwise they roll into the following delivery.

What we do not supply

We stock practice essentials, consumables and equipment for examination rooms, wound care and reception areas. Prescription medicines, scheduled substances and cold-chain pharmaceuticals fall outside our catalogue, and we will point you to the right channel rather than quote for them.

How an order moves through Yak Medical

From the first list you send to the day stock reaches your rooms, most orders follow the same path. Timings below are typical, not fixed, and they shift when a line needs a size check or a substitute.

  1. Step 1

    Send your list

Email the items you need, or the categories if you are still deciding. Practice managers often send a photo of a shelf or a previous invoice, which is usually faster than typing out codes. Include glove sizes, pouch dimensions and any fitting notes for furniture.

  2. Step 2

    We check compatibility

Before anything is quoted, we confirm that what you asked for actually fits your setup. Wall-mounted diagnostic sets get checked against your room layout, mobility aids against doorway widths, and accessories against the model you already own. If something will not work, we say so and suggest the closest alternative.

  3. Step 3

    Written quote

You receive a written quote listing each line, the pack size and the bulk tier where it applies. Gloves, syringes, gauze and IV lines are quoted at case level. The quote stays open long enough for you to run it past whoever signs off on practice spending.

  4. Step 4

    Dispatch and delivery

Orders ship from Johannesburg or Cape Town, whichever is closer to you. Gauteng, the Western Cape and KwaZulu-Natal normally see delivery within the same week. Outlying towns take longer, and we will tell you before dispatch rather than after.

  5. Step 5

    Standing orders

Once a list has run smoothly a few times, many practices move the repeat items onto a monthly standing order. The same consumables ship on a fixed schedule, and you adjust quantities when your patient load changes. Nothing is locked in for a year.

Where the process slows down

Two things cause most delays: unclear glove or pouch sizes, and furniture that has to be measured against a doorway or lift. Send those details with the first email and the quote usually goes out the same working day.
